It’s no secret that moringa is good for you. The leaves from the Moringa oleifera plant (or miracle tree) are loaded with nutrients, are rich in antioxidants, 9 essential amino acids, iron, minerals, and vitamins, like A and C – to name a few! This native plant to northern India, is also known to grow in other tropical and sub-tropical places like Asia and Africa, has been used in folk medicine for centuries.
Maintaining a healthy immune system is essential for helping our bodies fight off infections and illnesses. Immune boosting foods are those that help increase your immune systems performance by increasing the quantity and quality of the specialised white blood cells (aka lymphocytes) which are the main part of your body’s defence system. Moringa is rich in iron and Vitamin A – just two essential components for the normal function of the immune system.
The leaves also contain strong immune boosting phytonutrients that strengthen the immune system and enables you to fight off infections. Moringa is also packed with antioxidants which can protect cells from damage and may boost your immune system.
In fact, a study by Madukkwe E.U, et.al., in 2013 determined the proximate of micronutrients like iron and calcium, and essential Vitamins like A and C in moringa leaves. The results depicted an abundance of all these nutrients.
However, there is one problem. Moringa isn’t known for its pleasant taste. This means consuming it quite tricky, as its bitter, earthy taste cuts through most flavours. Raw and traditional moringa products not only taste unpleasant, but they can also be degraded within the stomach.
The stomach contains harsh acids that breakdown food, so not all nutrients are able to pass through to your lower intestine where most nutrients are absorbed for maximum benefit.
Sciiona is moringa, but not as you know it. Our patented micro-coating processes means each granule of dried organic moringa leaf powder is coated with a special vegetable cellulose. This ensures that the vital nutrients contained within Sciiona are protected from degradation by stomach acids, or even heat from cooking, therefore allowing it to reach the small intestine intact for the best absorption rate.
This also means that Sciiona is protected from temperatures up to 160°C, meaning you can incorporate it into your favourite meals without the loss of nutritional benefits – making it the perfect solution to supercharge even the most basic of meals.
