What Does Sciiona Taste Like

Moringa oliefera, also known as the horseradish tree because of the pungent, bitter flavour of the roots has long reigned supreme when it comes to being packed with nutrients, antioxidants, vitamins, and mineral’s.

Moringa trees grow at a comparable rate to weeds, sometimes up to 20 feet in a year and flowering for six months. The tree is native to India, Pakistan, and Nepal and has been used in medicine for thousands of years. The leaves are the most popular part of the plant, which are often dried and ground into a fine powder.

The powder itself smells like a mild, peppery version of green tea and tastes like matcha that has been spiked with a slightly bitter taste. This is due to the glucosinolates, better known as mustard oils which are the same compounds which make cruciferous vegetables like broccoli, bok choy, cabbage, cauliflower, brussels sprouts etc. slightly bitter.

This means consuming traditional moringa quite tricky, as this bitter, earthy flavours can cut through most recipes. Not only this, these moringa products can be degraded by the harsh acids found in the stomach. These acids breakdown food and aid digestion, however not all nutrients are able to pass through to the lower intestine where most nutrients are absorbed.

Therefore, more often than not even if you are consuming healthy foods and supplements, you are not getting the maximum benefits of the nutrients, vitamins, and minerals, as the stomach breaks them down.

Sciiona is moringa, but not as you know it. Our patented micro-coating processes means each granule of dried organic moringa leaf powder is coated with a special vegetable cellulose. This ensures that the vital nutrients contained within Sciiona are protected from degradation by stomach acids, allowing it to reach the small intestine intact for the best absorption rate.

This special patented process makes Sciiona the next generation moringa and was developed by nutritional scientist at the Rowett Institute at the University of Aberdeen. It also means that Sciiona is protected from temperatures up to 160°C, meaning you can incorporate it into your favourite meals without the loss of nutritional benefits – making it the perfect solution to supercharge even the most basic of meals.

Add Sciiona to sweet and savoury meals without worrying about loss of nutrients or an unpleasant taste.
